Chapter Meeting Minutes

  • Call to order and Welcome
  • Treasury Report
  • Member Dues: $35 local & $50 national
  • Meeting Schedule: Third Saturday of every month via Zoom
  • NAA Meeting Report
  • Treasurer Report: 749 Life Members; life members will receive the following for homecoming: 2 game tickets & parking
    9 members inducted in Achievement Hall of Fame
  • Board Goals: Although 2022 was the largest graduating class, 346, goal is to grow to 3000 in-person and 8000 online students.
    Foundation & University have a memorandom to realign
  • Dr. Thomas: Fall enrollment - 900 Freshman, 1200 Returning, 100 transfers, and 500 online students.
    Largest graduating class of 346, 156 online.
  • CSU Global received accrediation from Bahamas, NAECOB. In addition, received USDLA certification online univeristy.
    CSU Global has 175 students from Bahamas and 200 students from China
    Between 2022 - 2025, CSU Global is looking to grow graduate program to include: CyberSecurity, Commercial Music, Agriculture, Water Management, and Para Professional.
    CSU Global work in PHd programs in Education and Business Adminstration
  • Hulu & the university is collaborating with Hulu for a commercial to increase awareness about the university
  • Project renovations: 4-7 new bldgs, honors resident hall (119 beds), new facility management, new health & wellness
  • NAA launched new website: https://centralstateuniversityalumni.org/
  • NAA Election results: 1st VP. Wayne Knox, Treasurer Tyrone Dean, Board Members: Angela Small, Yancey Jones, Ralph Hendricks, Arturo Barnes
    NOTE: 893 members eligible to vote, 214 casted votes.
  • Previewed new documentary: "We Are Marauders"
  • REMINDER: Financial goals of the local chapters is to provide scholarships and support the university

  • Homecoming: Oct 5, 2022- Oct 8, 2022
  • PO Box status- cancelled
  • HBCU Night with Atlanta United- Sunday, 8/28/22
  • A calendar is underway to highlight events until year end
  • Headshots and chapter photos by Sabrina Mason- TBD
  • Local Chapter Dues- increase dues to keep up with the cost of inflation
  • JR Cricket’s HBCU Wall- donating a CSU shirt (not alumni shirt), to add to the wall. Kelly and Hope will organize with Geoffrey Lewis. Target date is 7/30/2022.
  • Andrew and Kelly are solidifying location for the annual chapter picnic. Target date is 7/30/2022.
  • HBCU Alliance- the alliance has inquired about our returning participation. Kelly has reached out to Dr. Judy in effort of understanding what our financial and participatory obligations are. Once confirmed, Kelly will report back to the chapter and a vote will take place regarding involvement.
  • CSU AAA President, Andrew Hughes plans to formally engage Director of Alumni Relations, Keith Perkins. One objective is to gain a better understanding of the foundations, connection to the institution, and allocation of finances.
